A Face. A Memory. A Day

The “A Face. A Memory. A Day” project offers a chance to learn about the memories, personal moments, and longing that the families and friends of the fallen have shared and, in collaboration with them, have been turned into short animated films. Although these films were created before October 7th, we believe they offer a meaningful connection now more than ever. Animation allows for a gentle distance that can be essential in these times, helping us focus on the face, the story, the person — a deeply challenging task, especially today.

 

While the events of October 7th and the ongoing war have brought forth countless new stories that are yet to be told, the importance of remembering all victims of Israel’s wars, military operations, and hostilities feels more urgent than ever. These 45 short films each mark a moment in the life of someone we have lost. We invite you to watch, share, and remember together.

 

The films are free to screen and broadcast at your Yom HaZikaron gatherings and throughout the year. In addition, educational guides are available in Hebrew, English, and Spanish, and the films have been translated into multiple languages to reach diverse audiences worldwide. No new films were created this year, as storytelling requires time, perspective, and a degree of distance from the trauma we are still living through. We hope this project can offer comfort and meaning, even in a small way.
